Eusko Ikaskuntza-Sociedad de Estudios Vascos created in 1980 the Grant José Miguel de Barandiarán in collaboration with the Diputaciones Forales of Alava, Biscay, Gipuzkoa and Navarre. The Grant, amounting to a significant sum, is yearly devoted to works concerning the Basque Country Prehistory - Archaeology and Anthropology - Ethnography and its results, voluminous and important, are published in the Collection Barandiarán.
Thanks to this, the research outlines drawn by the Patriarch of the Basque Culture are perpetuated and increased. Among the works published up until now, we should mention those carried out by the research teams headed by Jesús Altuna, Anton Erkoreka, Antxon Aguirre, Mª Amor Beguiristain, Ignacio Barandiarán, Txomin Peillen, Alfonso alday, Pablo Miguel Orduna, José Ignacio Vegas, Jose Manuel Pedrosa, Marian Mtz. de Pancorbo and Thierry Truffaut. These works are distributed among the main book shops of the Spanish State and of the Basque Country.
